Abstract

We apply the two-boundary Sine-Gordon formalism to study the renormalization of SQUID devices. We set up a general\
formalism to account for the nonperturbative renormalization of the Josephson couplings $E_J$ in a variety of Josephson superconducting devices. This approach has the advantage of being applicable no matter how strong are the quantum fluctuations and helps in estabilishing interesting connections between superconducting devices, fermionic quantum wires, and quantum impurity problems.
