Evidence for diquarks from lattice QCD

Abstract
Diquark correlations may play an important role in hadron spectroscopy, color superconductivity and baryon decays. We investigate the existence of diquark correlations in quenched lattice QCD by considering systematically all the lowest energy channels in a color gauge-invariant setup. We show that the most significant correlations are seen in the positive parity scalar diquark channel, which is also the lightest diquark state. We also measure mass differences between the various diquark channels and determine the size of the lightest one.
